2018 Hidden Track Grenache

Hidden Track Grenache is a fresh and complex red wine from a single vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA of Sonoma County. We love all our children equally, but the 2018 Grenache is currently the favorite among friends and family!

Thanks to the mild growing season in 2018, we hand harvested our Grenache grapes in mid October, a full two weeks later than 2017. The extended hang-time gave the berries more time to develop flavor and complexity on the vine. Once the grapes were in the winery, we co-fermented about half of the destemmed berries with half whole-cluster fruit, allowing a semi-carbonic maceration to occur within the whole-clusters, adding bright fruit tones to complement the structure in this special wine. We did gentle punch downs about twice a day for medium color extraction. This wine is everything we love about Grenache – bright fruit notes, great structure, and interesting layers of complexity.
